Jaxson does NOT like to pray. I don't know if he gets shy or embarassed but at dinner, before bed, and other random times we pray, we'll ask him if he wants to pray and he always says no. I try to tell him God wants to hear him and we always talk about how God loves us, etc. etc. He's told us he can't, he's too little, it's for mommys and daddys...and so on. Well, last night, like any other night, I asked him if he wanted to pray.
He did!
He got very shy but we took it slow. Finally, here are the first words EVER that Jaxson prayed to God.
"Dear God,
Thank you for you (and pointed at me).
Thank you for daddy.
Thank you for Maa-ox. He is my brudder.
Thank you for Cooper. He is my doggy.
I love you, God.
Amen."
I cried.
You can too.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

That it precious. Childlike innocence and thankfulness with no pretension, no churchy words or elaborations, not trying to impress anyone. Just a love for the Lord, simply verbalized. Very encouraging :)
