I woke up this morning and immediately began thinking of all the things I need to do. Start on the chili for the birthday party, bake cake and cupcakes for the birthday party, frost cakes, organize my stuff for my Entertaining at Home party tonight, run to Wal-Mart for some last minute supplies for the birthday, clean my entire house, etc. Oh yeah!!! Take care of my children along the way.
STRESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS...BAD MOOD MOMMA.
So after I got ready while Maddox pulled on my sweat pants the whole time, numerous times pulling them all the way down, (RRRRRRRRRG!) we were off to Wal-Mart. Did I mention it is wet and rainy and cold and I had on flip flops!??!?!?
I walked into the doors of Wal-Mart with probably a scowl on my face and was greeted by ....Martha.
Oh Martha, what a breath of fresh air you were.
"Hello! I know this guy! (speaking of Maddox) He's the one I can never get to smile." She spoke so sweetly and Jaxson's whining in the background began to disappear as we listened to her cooing to Maddox. THEN, she magically pulled a sucker out of her pocket for Jaxson. Jaxson's FAVE!
I know Martha didn't know what a blessing she was to me. I was only thinking of myself and all I had to do but she was only thinking of others and pleasantly greeted me at the doors of Wal-Mart.
Although I still have lots to do, my mood was lifted. Thank you, sweet Martha.
I pray that I will think of others and not myself. We never know what a genuine hello with a smile will do for someone who is selfish like me. ;)
Now, what am I doing blogging?~? Off to the world of one year old decor and cakes!
